District Playdown Results

Congratulations to the winners of the District 4 Playdown Tournament June 5-6, 2010.

North Shore Fastpitch hosted the District Playdowns on behalf of Softball BC, and we saw some spirited games and skilled play in all of the divisions that were playing down.  Congratulations to all of the following teams, and good luck representing the NSGFA at BC Provincial Championships in July!

End-Of-Season Tournament

The House League End-Of-Season Tournament will be running this weekend, June 19-20, at McCartney Park and Loutet Park.

Winners in each division will be crowned the first-ever North Shore Fastpitch league champions, continuing the tradition of NVGSA league champions from years past.  Good luck to all of the teams, may the weather gods smile down on the diamonds.

AGM & Volunteer Social

Plan on attending the Annual General Meeting on June 25, 2010, followed by the Volunteer Appreciation Social.

The Annual General Meeting of the North Shore Girls Fastpitch Association will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 7:00 PM in the Cedar Room, Delbrook Rec Centre. The full AGM Notice along with agenda is here: http://nsfastpitch.ca/home-run-news/2010-09.5.

The Executive would like to invite all coaches, managers and umpires to the Volunteer Appreciation Social at the Mosquito Creek Bar & Grill (2601 Westview Drive) at 8:00 PM immediately following the AGM.  This is our way of thanking all those whose time and commitment both on the field and behind the scenes make it possible for our young athletes to enjoy the sport of softball.

The Social will include complimentary food and drink, and there will be draw prizes though-out the evening as thank-you gifts to our volunteers. Additional tickets may be purchased at the door for $10 by parents and others who would like to attend.

Each team should email Mike at president@nsfastpitch.ca and let us know how many will be attending the social.

Canada Day Parade

North Shore Fastpitch is organizing an entry in the North Shore Canada Day Parade on Thursday, July 1, 2010, and we would love to have your team represent us!

Teams will march the parade route from 13th at Grand Blvd to 17th at Mahon Park wearing uniforms and carrying their team banners. This will be a fun event that will raise the profile of our association on the North Shore and hopefully attract more players to our game.

Teams which participate will have pancake breakfast from the Lions Club paid for by the association, and we'll also be providing promo items to hand out to spectators along the parade route.
