Softball BC will be holding Player Evaluation Camps in March and April 2008 throughout BC to identify those players who are interested in playing on Team BC. The Evaluation Camps are open to female players born in 1990 or later. Team BC is a program intended for elite players, however, athletes playing in any category are welcome to attend the Evaluation Camps.

It should be noted that these camps are strictly for evaluation purposes and not Development Camps; players will not be receiving direct information regarding their skill development. Players will be evaluated on their throwing, fielding, hitting and running skills, as well as their defensive and offensive performance in intra-squad games. The Evaluation Camps will also include a 30 minute run at the start of the day. Players should bring the following equipment and personal items with them to the Evaluation Camp: glove, cleats, bat, batting helmet, catcher’s gear (if applicable), running shoes, lunch, snacks, drinks, water bottle, a change of clothing and a hat.

From these initial Evaluation Camps, approximately 30-50 athletes will be chosen to continue on with the player selection process in the summer. These 30-50 athletes will be asked to attend a second Evaluation Camp on July 26-27, 2008. From that Camp a smaller group of athletes will be asked to attend a final Evaluation Camp on August 16-17, 2008. It should be noted that these two dates are tentative. We intend to select the final Team BC roster in September 2008.

The dates and locations of the Evaluation Camps are listed below. If you are interested in attending an Evaluation Camp, please contact Ssoftball BC for a registration form. Players are asked to please arrive a minimum of 15 minutes early for registration purposes.
